Dynamical traceback age of the β Pictoris moving group

Herve Bouy - University of Bordeaux - LAB (Professor)

Poster 1

The β Pictoris moving group is one of the most well-known  young associations in the solar neighbourhood and several members are  known to host circumstellar discs, planets, and comets. Measuring its  age precisely is essential to the study of several astrophysical processes, such as planet formation and disc evolution, which are strongly age-dependent. We used SOPHIE at OHP combined with other echelle spectrographs at ESO and Calar Alto and Gaia parallaxes and  proper motions to determine a precise and accurate dynamical traceback age for the β Pictoris moving group. Our analysis allows to derive an improved age and reconciles, for the …

High precision abundances of FGK stars with NeoNARVAL

Laia Casamiquela - Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Bordeaux (Postdoc)

Poster 2

Chemical abundances of low-mass FGK stars probe the physical processes which drive evolution in the Milky Way. Chemical elements that remain unaltered in the stellar atmosphere through the lifetime of a star are those useful for these type of studies because we assume that the chemical information of the star's birthplace is recorded in its photosphere. Abundances obtained from high-resolution are key to understand the chemical history of our Galaxy. (Neo)NARVAL is among the best instruments to obtain such abundances because of its high resolution and large wavelength coverage.

The strongly interacting exoplanetary system WASP-148

Guillaume Hébrard - CNRS

Poster 3

WASP-148 is a recently-discovered exoplanetary system that includes at least a hot Jupiter of 0.7 RJup and 0.3 MJup that transits its host with an orbital period of 8.80 days, and another planet of half a Jupiter-mass and an orbital period of 34.5 days. The orbits of both planets are eccentric and fall near the 4:1 mean-motion resonances. This configuration is stable on long timescales but induces dynamical interactions so that the orbits significantly differ from purely Keplerian orbits. In particular, transits show timing variations, making WASP-148 the first interacting system with TTVs detected from the ground - and thereafter …
